BBQ Shrimp Recipe

If you are in a hurry and are hungry for some grilled shrimp, it doesn't get any easier than this bbq shrimp recipe.

I like to cook these over a medium low heat on the grill, to help caramelize the sauce on the shrimp. For added flavor I place a small amount of soaked wood chips in the grill.

Ingredients

  • 2 lb. Jumbo Shrimp, peeled and deveined tail-on
  • 1 cup Ketchup
  • 2 tablespoon Vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon Honey
  • 1 tablespoon Brown Sugar
  • 2 teaspoon Hot Sauce
  • 1 teaspoon Cayenne Pepper
  • 1 teaspoon Black Pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon Onion Powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon Thyme

Directions

  1. Peel and devein your shrimp leaving the tail on
  2. Thread the Shrimp onto a soaked wooden or metal skewer
  3. Insert one skewer through the Shrimp towards the tail, insert the other skewer towards the head of the shrimp
  4. In a sauce pan add ketchup, vinegar, honey, brown sugar, hot sauce, cayenne pepper, black pepper, onion powder and thyme
  5. Heat thoroughly
  6. On a clean grill over medium low heat, grill shrimp for about 3 to 4 minutes on each side
  7. Brush bbq sauce over shrimp while cooking
  8. When done remove from grill and brush one last time with bbq sauce
