Cooking Lifeless Whole Lobster

by TONI VITO
(ROCHESTER, N.Y.)

IF LOBSTER DOES NOT MOVE IS IT STILL GOOD TO COOK?

Answer
Hi Toni
A good and safe rule of thumb for whole lobster is, do not cook dead lobsters.

Now this rule can be bent some if you know when your lobster died and what it died from. You should cook them right away.

By de-heading the lobster you will keep the other meat fresher a little longer.
