Crab Topped Halibut Steaks

Baked Halibut Recipe



Add a little bang to your halibut steaks, with this Crab Topped Halibut Steaks recipe. If you can't find Alaskan Halibut you may substitute it with any thick cut fish. Such as Grouper fish, Cod fish or Red snapper fish. This recipe serves four people.


Ingredients

  • 4 - 6 to 8 oz. halibut steaks
  • 6 oz crab meat (fresh or canned crab can be used)
  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 clove of garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon onion, chopped fine
  • 1 tablespoon celery, chopped fine
  • 1 tablespoon parsley, chopped fine
  • 1/2 cup Ritz crackers, crushed
  • 1 egg
  • buttered flavored spray oil

Directions

  1. Rinse and pat dry the halibut
  2. Rinse crab meat
  3. Saute the onions and celery in the butter and olive oil(do not over cook them)
  4. Remove the onion, garlic and celery from the heat, add the ritz crackers, crab meat, egg and parsley. Mix well and salt and pepper to your taste.
  5. Divide the crab mixture up into four equal parts and place on top of halibut steaks
  6. Spray each steak with oil
  7. Put in a baking dish and cover with foil
  8. Bake at 375 degrees for 30 minutes
  9. Remove and serve
