What can I put in the water to take away the smell?

Here are a few things that might help with the smell of cooking shrimp. Using shrimp boil will reduce the smell of the shrimp while cooking, because of the seasonings in it.

Another option would be to put a small bowl of vinegar out before you start cooking the shrimp, leave this bowl out until you start to smell the vinegar and then dispose of it.

This also works with cooking fish.
