Shrimp Sauce Recipes

There are so many different types of shrimp sauce recipes, that can be used in many different ways when serving or eating shrimp. Probably the most common sauce when thinking of shrimp, is the cocktail sauce.

A basic shrimp cocktail sauce is nothing more than ketchup and horseradish blended together and is commonly served with fresh cooked shrimp or oysters on the half shell.

Many people will add to the basic ingredients by adding hot sauce, (Tabasco or Louisiana hot sauce) along with lemon juice ( this helps cut down on the sweetness of the ketchup) and Worcestershire sauce.

In some parts of the country, they add mayonnaise to make what is called a fry sauce. This type of sauce is also popular in other countries.

There are also many shrimp sauces that are used when cooking your shrimp, like a lime, peanut, Japanese shrimp sauce and literally hundreds more.

Listed below are the shrimp sauce recipes, I have found over the years.
