Spicy Shrimp Recipe

This spicy shrimp recipe is perfect for parties, picnics or just cook some up for your family. Make sure to have some nice crusty bread to serve with this so you can soak up all of that butter. Since these are served warm, I just make a batch of pasta, drizzle some olive oil on it, sprinkled with spicy Italian seasoning and serve it on the side

Ingredients

  • 2 lb. extra large Shrimp (26/30 per lb.)in shells
  • 1/2 lb. Butter
  • 1/2 cup Fresh Lemon Juice
  • 3 tablespoons Black Pepper, finely ground
  • 1 teaspoon Fresh Basil, chopped
  • 1 teaspoon Cayenne Pepper
  • 3 teaspoon Fresh Oregano, chopped
  • 3 Cloves Garlic, minced
  • 1 Bay Leaf, crumbled
  • Salt to taste

Directions

  1. In a large deep skillet melt butter over low heat
  2. Once the butter melts, add the garlic, basil, oregano, black pepper, cayenne pepper, bay leaf and lemon juice
  3. Turn the heat up to medium and cook for about 5 minutes, stirring often
  4. Add the shrimp, stir and turn the shrimp to get them coated well in the seasoned peppered butter
  5. Cook for apprx. 10 minutes or until the shrimp are opaque and done
This recipe will serve 4 to 6 people
