Wahoo Poisoning

Can you get poisoning from Wahoo. I am on the beach in Baja and friends caught a 35lb. Wahoo. They shared the steaks around. We grilled ours well and ate around 7 and by 11 was vomiting. And at 5:30 am my husband was vomiting. Checking with our friends who ate it some had vomited , some had nausea and some were untouched. But at least 12 people were ill. We are 0k this morning but not tip top. What could be the problem? I read about histamine poisoning but can you just get vomiting and not the flushing etc. Or is there something else? The fish was caught and brought in within 2 hrs. and all of us refrigerated our steak.

Sorry for the late response.
I have searched to find you an answer, but have not come up with anything to help you out, concerning Wahoo fish.
